Police investigate cars crashing after robbery attempt outside casino

Pittsburgh police are investigating an attempted robbery in Chateau this afternoon that led to two vehicles speeding away and crashing.

Public safety spokeswoman Sonya Toler said police received a report of an attempted robbery outside the Rivers Casinio about 11 a.m. She said two cars, a silver Mercedes and a red Chevrolet Camaro, sped away from the scene and drove down Route 65, crashing at some point afterward.

Ms. Toler said police took the male driver of the Camaro into custody.
