Pittsburgh police were investigating two shootings in Carrick early this morning that were believed to be connected.

Zone 3 police responded to the 1900 block of Brownsville Road at 2:30 a.m. and found a 31-year-old male victim from Bellevue who had been shot once in the neck. The victim was taken to UPMC Mercy where he was listed in serious but stable condition.

While officers were investigating at the scene, a second victim, a 25-year-old male from Lawrenceville, walked into UPMC Mercy with a gunshot wound to the buttocks. He was reported to be in stable condition. Police said they believe the shootings were related, and said both victims refused to cooperate with police.
