Peduto: We can fix that pothole in five days!

Mayor Bill Peduto today said public works employees have "risen to the challenge" of filling the city‘‍s potholes.

In a news release, he said the city has cut the response time for fixing reported potholes from 17 days in April to five days. A year ago, the figure was 29 days.

He noted the city also made it easier to report potholes by accepting complaints through Twitter as well as the 311 complaint center.

Mr. Peduto said the reduced response times came despite a holiday and some equipment being unavailable.
