The woman who this weekend jumped to her death from the Fort Duquesne Bridge was identified today as Melissa Shandor, 46, of Lawrenceville.

An autopsy is pending, but the manner of death preliminarily appears to be suicide, the Allegheny County medical examiner's office said.

Mr. Shandor's body was found Sunday around 8:20 p.m. on the pavement of the gold parking lot at Heinz Field on the North Shore. A police spokeswoman said she jumped off the bridge.

Ms. Shandor apparently left her car on the bridge with a dog inside.
