Two months after his last visit to the region, President Barack Obama is planning another visit to Western Pennsylvania.

He is expected to visit the Pittsburgh area Tuesday for an event on the economy, said a White House spokesman who had no other details this afternoon. It isn’t clear whether the visit will be open to the public.

It will be the president’s third time in the area this year.

On Jan. 29, the day after his State of the Union address, Mr. Obama visited U.S. Steel's Irvin plant in West Mifflin to push for a higher minimum wage and a proposed new retirement savings plan.

On April 16, he and Vice President Joe Biden made a rare joint appearance at Community College of Allegheny County's West Hills Center in North Fayette to highlight its job-training programs.
