A Beechview man was sentenced today in U.S. District Court to 37 months in prison for importing from China and distributing the party drug methylone.

Patrick Taylor pleaded guilty earlier this year to possession of and conspiracy to distribute the drug. He began importing the drug in 2011, according to federal prosecutors and continued to until a warrant was obtained to search his apartment in March 2013.

"I want nothing more than to become a better person and to help others," Mr. Taylor told Judge Mark Hornak during the sentencing hearing.
