Hill District shooting victim identified

The Allegheny County medical examiner has identified a 24-year-old man who was shot to death in the Hill District on Tuesday.

Frankie Trammell was pronounced dead at UPMC Presbyterian at 7:18 p.m. after being shot in the 2500 block of Chauncey Drive in the Bedford Dwellings housing community shortly after 6:30 p.m.

Trammell was shot in his chest, according to city public safety spokeswoman Sonya Toler. The medical examiner’s office was to perform an autopsy today.

Police asked those with information about the shooting to contact the city homicide squad at 412-323-7800.
