Mother, teen son injured Downtown

A woman and her 13-year-old son were taken to the hospital this morning after being struck by a vehicle Downtown.

The crash happened shortly after 10:45 at Liberty Avenue and Wood Street, a 911 dispatch supervisor said.

Pittsburgh public safety spokeswoman Sonya Toler said the mother and son were taken to UPMC Mercy in stable condition.

Gina Follin witnessed the crash and saw a woman get hit and fall on the ground.

"She kept saying she was in pain," said Ms. Follin, who approached the woman where she was lying on the street.
