William C. Miller, 38, of the Hill District was sentenced Tuesday to 12 years in prison for child sex trafficking, U.S. Attorney David Hickton's office announced.

He was accused of picking up a 15-year-old girl, keeping her in his home, transporting her and marketing her as a prostitute. He pleaded guilty, but argued in court that he did not know she was under age.

Assistant U.S. attorney Jessica Lieber Smolar prosecuted the case, and U.S. District Judge Donetta W. Ambrose imposed the sentence.
