Pittsburgh’s revamped volunteer initiative to clean up litter has been renamed “Beautify Our ‘Burgh.”

Mayor William Peduto today unveiled new signs on the South Side for the program, which is a collaboration between the city’s servePGH initiative and the Department of Public Works. It had formerly been dubbed the “Redd Up” program.

“This is exactly the kind of partnership we want to ensure in Pittsburgh — one where city government [is] rempowering our neighborhoods,” Mr. Peduto said in a news release. “Improving litter removal builds pride in our neighborhoods, and also lightens the load on our Public Works crews.”
