The city of Pittsburgh has released its application for its summer youth employment program.

Pittsburghers ages 14 through 21 can apply online for a spot in the program. They can also visit one of the city's employment centers, listed below:

Eastside Neighborhood Employment Center (East) at 5321 Penn Ave. (412-362-8580),

Goodwill of SWPA (Southside) at 2400 E. Carson St. (412-632-1740).

Northside Coalition for Fair Housing at 1821 Brighton Road (412-321-5527).

West End Works (West) at 825 Lorenz Ave. (412-533-2029).

Applications are accepted May 1 through May 14.

The program will employ up to 500 young people in jobs ranging from office work at local organizations to park restoration. The jobs pay $7.25 an hour, except for those that are classified as work-readiness training, which pay $6 an hour.

The city supports the program with $1.3 million in funding that underwrites the wages of the employees.

For more information about the program, contact youth programs supervisor Jim Brenner at 412-255-2675 or at James.brenner@pittsburghpa.gov.
