A suspicious package that Pittsburgh emergency crews, including the bomb squad, investigated in Market Square this afternoon is believed to be a pinhole camera, city police spokeswoman Sonya Toler said.

Crews responded at 6 p.m., an Allegheny County emergency dispatch supervisor said.

By 7:30 p.m., they had removed a canister adhered to the back of a one-way sign outside Chipotle, and the police perimeter was taken down.

Ms. Toler said the cameras capture images over a period of days by slowly exposing an image that filters through the "pinhole" punched in the side of a light-proof container.
