A North Side man was ordered held for trial this morning on charges he shot another man after a robbery during a drug deal.
David Miklos, 53, of Marshall-Shadeland, is accused of robbing and killing Richard Didonato, 66, on Feb. 10.
Pittsburgh police said they found Mr. Didonato lying on Woodland Avenue in Marshall-Shadeland that night. Before he died, he said "Dave" shot him, according to police. Detectives said they suspect Mr. Didonato had gone to meet Mr. Miklos to buy narcotics and had several thousand dollars on him.
A witness heard a gunshot, looked out the window and saw a man dragging Mr. Didonato away from a car, according to police. The suspect then said, "I'm sorry," shot Mr. Didonato and drove away.
Police found plastic bags filled with pills on near Mr. Didonato and $757 in his pockets.
The homicide unit obtained a warrant for Mr. Miklos in late February and federal marshals picked him up last month.
