Pittsburgh police investigate Squirrel Hill bank robbery

Pittsburgh police are investing a robbery that occurred at a Squirrel Hill bank this afternoon.

Officers were called to the First National Bank on Forbes Avenue about 3:20 p.m. for a report of a robbery, police spokeswoman Sonya Toler said.

She said the robber -- a man wearing dark blue jeans, a yellow jacket, and a dirty white scarf wrapped around his face -- left the bank with between $5,000 and $10,000, which he placed into a blue satchel.

She described the robber as a white man in his 50s who had a thin build and was about 5 feet 8 inches tall. She said he also wore black shoes and gloves.
