Man dies in early morning crash on Pittsburgh's South Side

A 47-year-old man was killed this morning in a vehicle crash on the city's South Side.

An Allegheny County dispatch supervisor said the two-vehicle wreck occurred about 4:55 a.m. at East Carson and Hot Metal streets. One person was taken to a hospital.

The Allegheny County medical examiner's office said the man who died was Thomas Oshanick, 47, of Greenfield. (Read Scott Mervis' appreciation of Tommy Osh.)

East Carson Street was closed from 28th to 29th streets.
