Pittsburgh firefighters injured at scene of Carrick blaze

Two Pittsburgh firefighters were injured and a third was being evaluated after a blaze began in Carrick this morning.

The fire began in a building in the 1500 block of Transverse Avenue about 8:50 a.m. and was declared under control at 9:39 a.m., an Allegheny County emergency dispatch supervisor said.

Two firefighters were taken to UPMC Mercy to be treated for minor injuries, the supervisor said. A third was being evaluated at the scene.
