Hazelwood woman arrested in seven robberies

A Hazelwood woman was arrested today in seven robberies -- during two of which, she produced a handgun -- since Jan. 18, Pittsburgh police said.

Lt. Kevin Kraus said Starnita Camille Sloan, 29, will be charged in the following robberies:

• Rite Aid, 4934 Second Ave. in Hazelwood on Jan. 18

• Cricket Wireless, 4237 Murray Ave. in Greenfield on Jan. 27

• Paititi Crafts, 1823 Murray Ave. in Squirrel Hill on Jan. 27

• Subway, 4778 Liberty Ave. in Bloomfield on Jan. 28

• Fig Leaf, 1406 East Carson St. in South Side on Jan. 30

• CVS, 5600 Wilkins Ave. in Squirrel Hill on Feb. 1

• Katie’s Kandy, 115 Meyran Ave. in Oakland on Feb. 3

No injuries were reported in any of the incidents. The suspect showed a handgun during the Jan. 27 incidents. Police stopped Ms. Sloan after the robbery at Katie's Kandy, the lieutenant said.
