Food bank cancels 3 distributions due to weather

The Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank has canceled three Produce to People distributions because of bad weather.

Cynthia Moore, the food bank's director of community education, said Friday that produce distribution at the following sites are canceled: Saturday at Bedford Square on Pittsburgh's South Side and at Big Beaver Falls Area Middle School, Beaver Falls, and Tuesday at the Butler City Farmer's Market, Butler.

She said the distributions will not be rescheduled.

People can visit the food bank's website at www.pittsburghfoodbank.org. to find a food pantry in their area or information about upcoming Produce to People distributions; call United Way's 211 help line or contact the Urban League of Greater Pittsburgh Hunger Services Network, which provides emergency food assistance at 412-325-0747.
