The president of the Fraternal Order of Police will be decided in March from three patrolmen put forth by their peers at a lodge meeting Thursday night.

Greg Kalogeris, Howard McQuillan or Daniel O'Hara will be sworn in on March 20 by current president Mike LaPorte, a week after the election. A slate of candidates for each leadership position was also chosen at the meeting.

Sgt. LaPorte will serve on the FOP's board for two years as the immediate-past president and was nominated for the trustee position. He said he has accomplished what he set out to do as president and looks forward to spending more time with his family.
