Man shot, injured in Sheraden

A man was shot early this morning in Pittsburgh's Sheraden neighborhood, police said.

Officers in the city's Zone 6 station were en route to a call for a "large disturbance" in the 3100 block of Chartiers Avenue about 1:45 a.m. when the dispatcher updated the call to include the sound of gunshots, police said.

Officers arrived and found a man with a gunshot wound, police said. Witnesses told police the man was trying to break up a fight between two others when he was shot.

KDKA-TV reported that one person was taken to the hospital.

No further information was available.
