Pittsburgh police are investigating a shooting Monday night that left one man wounded in East Liberty.
Officers from the Zone 5 station in Highland Park went to 3 Cambria Court about 6:15 p.m. for a report that a man had been shot. When they arrived, they found a 20-year-old man lying in the front entrance of one of the buildings.
A bullet had entered his lower abdomen and exited through his buttocks, according to an email from police spokeswoman Diane Richard. Ms. Richard said the man, whose name she did not release, was conscious when medics transported him to UPMC Presbyterian.
Zone 5 Lt. Jason Lando said Monday night that he expected the man to survive.
Police said the man appeared to have walked out the front door of his home, a gunshot went off and he ran back through the front door "yelling he was hit," Ms. Richard said.
She said police recovered on shell casing from the crime scene and expected to review footage from local surveillance cameras.
