The Port Authority's Light Rail Transit service has been restored in and trains are now operating in both directions, the transit agency said.
Service was disrupted and delayed through much of the morning when debris from a building fell onto the overhead line, knocking out power to the T in that part of Downtown.
Delays were reported on all light rail service routes because of a downed line near the Steel Plaza station Downtown. A piece of debris fell from the Manor Building parking garage at Fourth Avenue and Ross Street, knocking out power to the light rail system, said Port Authority spokesman Jim Ritchie.
Earlier in the day, delays averaged 20 to 30 minutes, Mr. Ritchie said.
The Port Authority is working with the owner of the structure and the city to ensure the structure is safe and no more debris will fall.
