Road closures, parking restrictions planned for Peduto inauguration

The inauguration Monday of Bill Peduto as Pittsburgh's next mayor will close several Downtown streets and force parking restrictions on others.

The ceremony at Heinz Hall, brought indoors because of the expected freezing temperatures, begins at noon. The earliest street closures and parking restrictions begin hours earlier.

A reception at the PPG Wintergarden will follow.

Sixth Street will be closed from Penn Avenue to Liberty Avenue beginning at 9:30 a.m.

Third Avenue from Market Street to Stanwix Street will close at 11 a.m. The same span of Fourth Avenue is scheduled to close about the same time.

Fourth Avenue from Stanwix to the PPG Place ice rink will close between about 2 p.m. and 4:30 p.m.

Parking restrictions begin at 9 a.m. No parking will be allowed on:

• Penn from Seventh Street to Stanwix

• Sixth Street from Penn to Liberty

• Liberty from Seventh Street to Stanwix

• Stanwix from Penn to Third Avenue

• Fourth Avenue from Stanwix to PPG Place

• Third Avenue from Stanwix to Market

• or Third Avenue from Stanwix to Market.
