In an addition to the agenda, Pittsburgh Public Schools superintendent Linda Lane is asking the board to spend $4,000 to hire an outside firm to review the shooting near Brashear High School last week and a reportedly related incident the previous month.

The board is scheduled to vote on Tuesday on whether to hire CSI Corporate Security and Investigations to do an external review.

"Clearly, we don't want anything of this serious a nature to happen again," said Ms. Lane.

Last week, three students were shot near Brashear High School after school let out. A Brashear student, who allegedly was assaulted in the school by two of the wounded students on Oct. 18, has been arrested.
