The outbound lanes of West Liberty Avenue have reopened between the Liberty Tunnels and Cape May Avenue after repair of a water main break that occurred early this morning.

Traffic was diverted onto Route 51 south. Inbound traffic was not restricted but was slowed as drivers checked out the work area. The outbound side reopened around 2 p.m.

The break was in a 10-inch water line near Pioneer Avenue. Gary Lobaugh, a Penn American Water spokesman, said the line was installed in the 1920s.
