A woman was injured seriously and a man also was hurt in a three-vehicle crash this morning on the Parkway East.

Kelsey Davis, 21, was driving east in the westbound lanes near the Oakland exit shortly before 4 a.m. when she hit a vehicle driven by Christophe Taesch, 47, who was going west in the left lane, Pennsylvania State Police said in a press release.

After impact, Ms. Davis' car then drifted into the front of a tractor-trailer driven by David Donoforio, 45, state police said. He was not injured.

Ms. Davis suffered major injuries, and those of Mr. Taesch were moderate. He and Mr. Donoforio were wearing seatbelts. Police said it was unknown if Ms. Davis had been wearing a seatbelt.

The crash closed the parkway for several hours, but it has reopened. State police continue to investigate.
