Pittsburgh police arrest Elliot woman in Lorenz Avenue beating caught on video

Pittsburgh police arrested an Elliot woman and charged three juveniles today, saying they participated in a street beating of a 15-year-old girl earlier this month.

Two girls beat the 15-year-old with locks attached to chain or rope about 4 p.m. Oct. 10 on Lorenz Avenue, police spokeswoman Diane Richard said. The third juvenile does not appear in the video.

Detectives got video of the fight, in which the girl was on the ground when Andrea Bennett, 24, began kicking her in the head and back, Ms. Richard said.

After police interviewed Ms. Bennett today, they charged her with aggravated assault, criminal conspiracy and two counts of corrupting the morals of a minor and took her to the Allegheny County Jail, Ms. Richard said.

The juveniles each face aggravated assault and conspiracy charges.
