Three children suffered "very minor injuries" and a driver also went to the hospital this morning after a wreck involving a school van and a vehicle, Pittsburgh police said.

Officers in the Pittsburgh police Zone 3 station went to Route 51 near Bausman Street close to a skate park for a report that a vehicle hit a school van about 6:53 a.m., police bureau spokeswoman Diane Richard said.

The Pittsburgh Public Schools van was carrying three students to Bishop Canevin High School, district spokeswoman Ebony Pugh said.

Medics took two to a hospital to be evaluated and a parent took the third to a hospital, police said.

The school van driver also was taken to the hospital complaining of dizziness, and no information on the driver of the other vehicle was available this morning.
