A man was arrested after a 92-year-old jitney driver was shot multiple times while driving in Homewood on Wednesday morning -- although police say he was not the intended target.
Jason A. Haddock, 24, of Homewood faces three felony counts each of attempted homicide and aggravated assault; two felony gun charges; and three misdemeanor counts of recklessly endangering another person.
Cornelius Swinton of Homewood was taken to UPMC Presbyterian after being shot in the neck, shoulder and hand, police said. His condition has been upgraded from critical to serious, police spokeswoman Diane Richard said.

An emergency dispatch supervisor said Mr. Swinton was shot in the 800 block of North Murtland Street shortly before 11:40 a.m.
Zone 5 Cmdr. Timothy O'Connor said it appears that Mr. Swinton was shot near the corner of Bennett and Murtland streets and then drove down Bennett Street toward Frankstown Avenue. Police observed six bullet holes in the driver's door and three in the passenger-side windshield, Ms. Richard said.
A person who had been in the car with Mr. Swinton later contacted police to report that they were the target of the shooting, according to court documents.
A Zone 5 officer pulled over two men in a vehicle just a few blocks away on Forrest Way and North Homewood Avenue, Ms. Richard said.
Mr. Haddock told police he had shot into the jitney, but that he was not aiming for Mr. Swinton. According to court documents, Mr. Haddock said his target had previously shot at him and his sister's home.
Aaron Lyons, 19, who was in the car with Mr. Haddock, was arrested on a warrant for robbery, according to court documents.neigh_city - breaking
