East End man arrested in connection with July shooting death in East Hills

Pittsburgh police Zone 5 officers and homicide detectives arrested a man today in connection with the July 31 shooting death of a 24-year-old in East Hills.

Police obtained an arrest warrant Aug. 2 for Rayshawn Williams, 22, of the East End and apprehended him today without incident on the 7400 block of Monticello Street in Homewood.

He is being held in the Allegheny County Jail tonight, awaiting arraignment.

On July 31, Derrick Lyman, 24, was found shot and unresponsive in an apartment building hallway in the 2100 block of Park Hill Drive in East Hills, police said. He was pronounced dead in the UPMC Presbyterian emergency room about a half-hour after the shooting.
