A Carrick man was arrested after Pittsburgh police said they found nearly 80 bricks of heroin when they stopped him in a shopping plaza and searched his house.

Floyd Lane, 36, was arraigned this morning on charges of drug possession, according to court records.

Pittsburgh police spokeswoman Diane Richard said in a press release that narcotics detectives focusing on drug sales in Carrick identified Lane as "the primary suspect" and arrested him in the Carrick shopping plaza, where they found him with nine bricks of heroin and $352. When they searched his home, they found another 70 bricks of heroin and $5,950 in cash, she said.

She also said Lane is on federal probation. Online court records show that a man by the same name pleaded guilty after he was indicted in the U.S. District Court of Western Pennsylvania on a federal firearms violation for possessing a gun as a felon.
