McKeesport bicyclist killed in Carrick crash

A McKeesport man has died after he was hit by a vehicle while riding a bicycle Sunday in Carrick.

John Pearson, 55, was struck near the intersection of Overbrook Boulevard and Almont Street, the Allegheny County medical examiner's office said today.

He was pronounced dead at UPMC Mercy Hospital at 11:55 p.m.

He suffered several face and skull fractures and likely died from injuries sustained in the collision, according to the medical examiner's office.

The Pittsburgh police collision investigation unit, which is investigating the incident, was not immediately available.
