Police arrested a North Side woman today who was wanted on three criminal bench warrants on charges of theft and burglary, the Allegheny County sheriff's office said.
Nicole Hooper, 24, was detained after sheriff's deputies spotted her pumping gas into a vehicle at a station in the 300 block of Cedar Avenue in East Allegheny.
Hooper had been sentenced to probation after she pleaded guilty in both the theft of personal property from the Allegheny County Courthouse and a home burglary in Mount Washington, but violated her probation in January after she was named an accomplice in the burglary of an Overbrook home.
Bench warrants were issued for both violations, in addition to a third, which was issued after she missed an April court date.
Kurt Schmidt, 29, of Coraopolis, who was sitting in the driver's seat of the vehicle, was also arrested. Deputies said they observed him wiping heroin on his clothing and found a syringe on the floor of the car.
Hooper's 2-year-old child was in the back seat of the vehicle.
Both Hooper and Mr. Schmidt are being held in Allegheny County Jail on the charge of endangering the welfare of a child. Mr. Schmidt will be charged with drug possession.mobilehome - neigh_city - breaking
