A grandfather and grandson were arrested this morning after Pittsburgh police said they found heroin, cocaine and guns in their Hill District home.

Albert Martin, 73, and Troy Martin, 20, were detained while police executed a search warrant on their house in the 700 block of Mercer Street, Pittsburgh police spokeswoman Diane Richard said.

The house has been under investigation for three months following complaints of drug activity.

The 6 a.m. search yielded 24 bricks of heroin, one ounce of powder cocaine, two Glock pistols and a 30-round extended magazine.

Drug packaging materials and $4,220 in cash also were found.

Both men will face charges of possession of a controlled substance, possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia, Ms. Richard said. Troy Martin will also face a charge of person not to possess firearms, she said.

Ms. Richard said the arrests were the result of Zone 2 plainclothes officers and the Pittsburgh police SWAT team.
