The baby killed in a shooting at a picnic Tuesday night in East Hills has been identified as Marcus White Jr, according to the Allegheny County medical examiner's office.

A 1-year-old who lived in Homewood, his autopsy is scheduled for later today.

The shooting about 7:30 p.m. off the 2300 block of East Hills Drive in the Second East Hills housing complex also left two women injured.

Pittsburgh police have said that three gunmen possibly got out of a vehicle and began firing at a crowd of people attending a picnic.

No arrests have been made and today police have released no new information.

Community members gathered to respond at a meeting in East Hills attended by Pittsburgh Councilman Ricky Burgess and state Rep. Ed Gainey, D-Lincoln-Lemington.

"We want the community to know that it's not about snitching, it's about testifying," Mr. Gainey said. "A baby is dead."

Shirlene Wilson, president of the East Tri Borough Neighborhood Association, said there needs to be more police presence, more community activities and people should "not be afraid to speak about what happens in the community."

Mr. Burgess ended the meeting by asking everyone in attendance to join hands in prayer.

"We pray for Marcus's family," he said. "We pray for this grieving mother."
