The Pittsburgh Sociable City Plan will hold two meetings this week to talk about ways to manage the city's entertainment areas.

At 2 p.m. today, representatives from Pittsburgh police, the Liquor Control Board and two security consultants will discuss hospitality and public safety. The session at the Sheraton Station Square Hotel is open to bars, restaurants and clubs throughout the city.

On Friday, the director of the San Francisco Entertainment Commission will speak at 9 a.m. at Point Park University about coordinating and promoting events in entertainment districts. The meeting also will provide a quarterly update on the Sociable City Plan.

The events are an outgrowth of a study by the Responsible Hospitality Institute on the city's South Side. To register for the free events, contact Alicia Lakomski of RHI at Alicia@RHIweb.org.
