An armed man robbed a North Side quick-cash store this morning, Pittsburgh police said.

Officers went to the Money Mart at 621 E. Ohio St. in the city's East Allegheny neighborhood after a 911 call at 8:16 a.m., an Allegheny County emergency dispatch shift commander said.

The man had a handgun, which went off at least once, when he robbed the store, the shift commander said.

The shift commander said police mentioned the man was wearing a short, black wig.

No one was injured. It was not immediately clear how much cash the man took.

He ran from the store toward the Giant Eagle on Cedar Avenue. Pittsburgh police Zone 1 officers and the bureau's robbery squad are investigating.
