The Allegheny County Health Department will hold a public hearing March 1 to discuss revisions to the county's air quality regulations.

The hearing will be held as the county wraps up accepting public comments on the proposed changes, which can be submitted until March 6.

The hearing is scheduled for 10 a.m. in the Clack Health Center, Building 7, 301 N. 39th St., Lawrenceville.

Testimony at the public hearing must be pre-scheduled by calling 412-578-8008 no later than 24 hours in advance. Speakers are limited to five minutes and are asked to submit a written copy of their testimony.

Residents also can email comments to boh@achd.net, fax them to 412-578-8325 or mail them to Allegheny County Board of Health, 3333 Forbes Ave., Pittsburgh 15213.

The proposed changes include opacity limits for soaking emissions from coke oven standpipes, the definition of soaking emissions from standpipe caps and revisions related to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's review time for proposed operating permits.
