Pittsburgh police said they stumbled upon a marijuana grow lab in Spring Hill after a man reported a suspicious power cord running from his home to his neighbor's.
Officers from the city's Zone 1 station were called to Solar Street about 8:30 p.m. on Monday. They told the neighbor that it was an illegal hazard to run the power cord -- especially one covered in duct tape -- from his neighbor's house to his own, police spokeswoman Diane Richard said in a news release.
Firefighters were called for backup because of the electrical hazard. While responding, they found "what appeared to be a marijuana grow lab with lamps, soil and planters" and several computers and hard drives, Ms. Richard said. She said they also found a space heater running near a can of paint thinner.
Tomas Nemcok, 22, and Michal Nemcok, 24, both from Solar Street, were charged with theft of services, causing or risking a catastrophe and various drug charges, Ms. Richard said.mobilehome - neigh_city - breaking
