A crash involving a tractor-trailer and a car closed Route 65 inbound at the McKees Rocks Bridge for two hours this morning.

The crash occurred at about 7:20 a.m. about a quarter-mile south of the bridge and left the truck partially atop a car. A woman inside the car was not injured, according to initial reports from the scene.

Police sent a tow truck to the scene by sending it the wrong way up the inbound side of the road from California Avenue at Marshall Avenue. Then they had to remove the truck, which couldn't be driven because its load had shifted.

The road reopened shortly after 9:20 a.m. Traffic backed up on Route 65 and on alternate routes across the river, including West Carson Street.

The crash was one of several reported this morning as steady rain caused slick conditions. Other crashes were reported on Route 51 outbound at Edgebrook Avenue and on Allegheny River Boulevard between Washington Boulevard and Nadine Road.
