The Allegheny County and Ingram police departments are requesting assistance in locating a girl who has been missing since July 4.

Karissa Ferry, 17, is 5-feet-6, 170 pounds. She has brown hair, hazel eyes and pierced ears. Karissa was last seen at her home in Ingram on the evening of July 4.

She is known to frequent Ingram, Stowe and the Sheraden section of Pittsburgh.

Allegheny County Police Lt. Jeffrey Korczyk of the general investigations unit said Karissa left her home of her own accord after being disciplined by her mother, who took away her cell phone.

"Our investigation at this point has found individuals who have seen her. We believe she is still in the area, possibly staying with some friends, but we haven't been able to find her at this point," he said today.

Anyone who has seen Karissa or has any information about her whereabouts should call 412-473-3000.
