Police serving a search warrant today in Belle Vernon related to a child pornography investigation called in a bomb squad after uncovering a trove of firearms, thousands of rounds of ammunition, two "de-milled" grenades and an "unspecified-caliber military projectile."

Aaron R.T. Stoneking, 32, of Fayette Street is charged with 18 counts of possession of child pornography, two counts of distribution of child pornography and criminal use of a communication facility.

According to the state attorney general’s office, Mr. Stoneking was arrested after agents conducting an online investigation discovered files containing suspected child pornography that were downloaded from a peer-to-peer file-sharing network. The computer's IP address was linked to the house Mr. Stoneking shares with his mother, according to a criminal complaint.

After serving the warrant today, agents found "numerous military-type weapons," thousands of rounds of various types of ammunition, the grenades and the projectile. Mr. Stoneking acknowledged downloading pornography but "invoked his right to counsel" when told the investigation involved illegal pornography, according to the complaint.

The Allegheny County Police Bomb Squad was called in to secure the scene and agents seized a laptop, a desktop computer and several gaming consoles, which will be analyzed by the AG's Computer Forensics Unit as part of an ongoing investigation.

An examination of his laptop's hard drive revealed "in excess of four hundred video files in multiple formats with file names indicative of child pornographic content," the complaint says.

The case will be prosecuted in Westmoreland County by the attorney general's office.
