Police: Footprints lead to arrest in Clairton armed robbery

Allegheny County police said they used footprints in the snow to arrest two juveniles accused of robbing a taxi driver at gunpoint in Clairton early this morning.

Clairton police were called to the Woodland Terrace section of Polk Avenue about 2 a.m. today, according to a news release from Allegheny County police.

Detectives from the county police and Clairton followed footprints in the snow to a home on Bataan Avenue, where they said they found a stolen gun and items taken from the cab driver.

Police charged two juveniles -- who they did not initially name -- as adults in connection with the robbery. While at the home, police arrested a man who was wanted on unrelated warrants and found hiding in the attic as well as a man and a juvenile who were wanted on other warrants, police said.
