Pitt coach Todd Graham said today that he is hopeful starting offensive lineman Lucas Nix and starting linebacker Todd Thomas will return to the lineup for Saturday's home game against Utah.

Nix and Thomas were injured during the Sept. 29 victory against South Florida and did not play in last week's loss at Rutgers. Both players have leg injuries.

"I think not having Lucas is tough for us," Graham said. "Not that those guys behind him aren't battling. But when you don't have [Chris] Jacobson and you don't have Lucas???we need to get him back sooner than later. Honestly, it's day to day. I'm hoping to have him back this week. If not, Iwould say for the next week.

"Todd is in the same boat. That was another loss that hurt us. Todd was really playing well. He makes things happen. He's a very imposing guy in the slot. We're hopeful we'll get those guys back. Injuries are a part of it. You can't whine about it. Everyone has them. But we're hopeful to have those guys back this week."
