West Penn Allegheny reports quarterly, full-year results

The West Penn Allegheny Health System today reported a net profit of $2.1 million in the fourth quarter of fiscal 2009 with an operating loss of $3.8 million.

For the year, the health system posted a net loss of $25.2 million, compared with a $57.8 million loss in fiscal 2008 when they were forced to make a $73 million write down. Total revenues were $1.6 billion for the year, a 7 percent increase.
