Two women suffered minor injuries when the car they were riding in crashed into a home in Baldwin Borough.

The four occupants of the home in the 600 block of Steiner Street, including a pregnant woman, also were not injured. The owner of the house, Amy Namachar, was not available for comment.

Jacob Pulsifer, a 17-year-old neighbor, and his mother, Julie McMichael, rushed to assist to two women in the vehicle after they heard the noise of the crash around 6 p.m.

The driver, who lives on Bour Street, was shaken up, and she complained of soreness, but she did not appear to have been seriously injured, Mr. Pulsifer said.

Her passenger, who is a relative from Ohio, had been riding with her as the two women were headed to the Pirates baseball game.

The driver of the car said that her brakes failed and she lost control of the vehicle on the downhill slope of Steiner Street.

The Red Cross said it has provided food and shelter for the four adults at the damaged house.

Mr. Pulsifer, whose family lives diagonally across from where the accident occurred, said the two women returned to Steiner Street afterwards to thank him and others who assisted them.
