Allegheny County schedules classes on caring for older adults

The Area Agency on Aging, part of the Allegheny County Department of Human Services, will offer a series of free family caregiver training sessions for caregivers of older adults over the next three months.

The first session, on Aug. 26, will focus on assisting an older adult with personal care and moving. The second session, Sept. 23, will cover healthy eating and caring for the caregiver. The third and final session, Oct. 17, will cover legal and financial issues and how to care for a loved one with Alzheimer’s disease or dementia.

All sessions will be held from 10 a.m. to noon at the agency’s offices, 2100 Wharton St., South Side.
