The chair of the chancellor search committee at the University of Pittsburgh today announced the committee has a “very strong pool of candidates” and remains “on target” to name a new leader before Aug. 1.
Chair Stephen Tritch, who sent the update to the university community, said he could not provide any details because of “maintaining the confidentiality that is important to the process.”
In the statement, he added, “But I can assure you that, given the quality of these individuals who come from all over the world, the word has gotten out about the stature and accomplishments of our university.”
Pitt Chancellor Mark Nordenberg announced in June that plans to step down on Aug. 1 this year.
