A jury in Washington County this morning found a 25-year-old man not guilty on all charges related to a 2009 double homicide in Washington.

The trial for Gregory Avery Jr., of Washington, began Dec. 5 and the jury began deliberating Wednesday, a court employee said.

Mr. Avery was arrested in April 2012 on two charges of criminal homicide and one charge of criminal conspiracy in the shooting deaths of Troy "Deuce" Saunders, 23, and Marquis Taylor, 24, near the Cabaret West Bar on West Chestnut Street.

His co-defendant, Phillip Whitlock, 30, has accepted a plea deal with prosecutors.

Whitlock pleaded guilty in 2012 to third-degree murder, aggravated assault and criminal conspiracy and is awaiting sentencing, according to online court records.
