A Westmoreland County man pleaded guilty today to possessing child pornography and sexual abuse of children after he was accused of using a recording device on two girls while they changed in a Station Square hotel room.

Louis E. Wilt, 58, of New Florence will be sentenced by Allegheny County Common Pleas Judge Donna Jo McDaniel on Feb. 4.

According to investigators, Mr. Wilt had a recorder on a keychain that he used to film the girls changing into their swim suits. Police went to the Sheraton Station Square on Aug. 8 after one of the girls’ mothers contacted hotel security.

The woman’s daughter had called her to report that the two girls had seen a device with a blinking red light that appeared to have a tiny camera lens pointed toward them in the bathroom.

The Post-Gazette doesn’t identify victims in sexual crimes.

Investigators later also recovered child pornography from Mr. Wilt’s computer.
